The L&B Chocolate Company began back in the 1970's with Lucy's mom (Helen Golden Vandzura-pictured here at age 93) who took a chocolate course with a friend in Johnstown, PA.  She then applied her skills in her kitchen making a variety of chocolate treats for family and friends.  Not surprising, this is how many chocolate shops begin with someone starting small and then branching out into a commercial business.  Lucy and Bill took Helen's lead and made chocolate treats for their family, friends and work associates for over 40 years.  Prior to Bill retiring from his career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Lucy retiring from her career with Forest County Children and Youth, both attended various training in chocolate making.  Working on their skills and secret recipes they opened their shop in 2013 thanks to Helen.   Helen was there for the opening of the L&B Chocolate shop and was present for several years in her rocking chair in the shop.   Helen passed away in February 2018 and is now watching over the shop from her rocking chair with her husband Andy and son Leonard and many other members of her family.  Thanks Mom and Helen!
