The L & B Chocolate Company is owned and operated by Lucy and Bill Alex in TIonesta, PA. This chocolate shop offers a variety of chocolates. Among the most popular chocolates are pecan snappers, cashew snappers and peanut butter melt-a-ways. The roasted and salted pecan and cashew nuts are covered with caramel (which is made in the shop) and then topped off with creamy chocolate. The melt-a-ways are a mixture of chocolates and peanut butter that could be considered a meal in themselves.
It all started in the early 1970's with Lucy's mom Helen Vandzura, who made chocolates for family and friends over the holidays and for special occasions. Lucy loved to make chocolates as well and when she began to date Bill(yes, high school sweethearts)their enthusiasm for making chocolates began. Lucy and Bill provided chocolates to family and friends for many years. During those years, both Lucy and Bill went to training courses, made lots of chocolates and decided to start up a chocolate shop when the time was right. In December of 2013, Lucy and Bill started the L & B Chocolate Company and opened the shop for business.
